AMERICA’S CREED OR PHILOSOPHY
JUDGES 21 VERSE 25:
“IN THOSE DAYS THEIR WAS NO KING IN ISRAEL; EVERONE DID WHAT WAS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES.”
What is the thinking of the average American in our day, the age of enlightenment, and does it affect our way of life? We are living in the do it now generation or I want it now. There is no moral compass to guide us as we have no restraint to govern us in our decisions in life. Americans are being filled with the philosophies that if it feels good then do it, and there is no God to give account to. Many of the laws being passed today are anti God and if you support Biblical beliefs you are a hate monger and you should go to jail. What I am writing is not fiction but fact in our modern day of enlightenment. So much of our time spent watching the boob tube and drawing our conclusions about life and how to have it all from the thinking of the world. The Bible tells us in no uncertain terms that the Lord that made us is able to give us answers to the trials of life. The nation of Israel is a case in point of how a nation or people that choose to live independently of the Lord end up loosing everything and go into oblivion or lose nationhood. To leave the Lord out of ones life and to live as though He did not exist is to invite disaster. Someone has well said that America is legislating God out of American life and you see this in the many laws that are being passed. The term they knew not the Lord is found many times in scriptures and speaks of ignorance of many individuals that give no thought to God and His word. In the book of Isa chapter one and verse three we have these words: “the ox knoweth its owner and the ass its masters but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.” These words were spoken by the great prophet Isaiah to a nation that would soon be judged by the Lord for turning their back on God who created them to be a blessing to the nations. But they wanted to be like the other nations that were idol worshippers, who practiced every type of wickedness that was known to man. The God of the Bible does not change and judges according to His Holy character and will hold every individual responsible for his or her decisions in life. The nation of Israel has always been a reference point in the Lords dealing with mankind; as you look at nations that have come and gone you see that the judgments that fell upon nations has happened to the nation of Israel also. America has drifted from its Biblical foundation as it follows the secular reasoning that many nations follow. The only remedy for our nation is to go back to its Biblical roots and turn back to the God of the Bible who made this nation great and repent of its indifference to the Lord and bring forth the worthy of repentance. In the gospel of Matthew we have these words from the lips of John the Baptist; “Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance.” Matthew chapter 3 verse 8. Here John is speaking to the religious leaders of Israel and telling them unless there is a change of ones heart all the keeping of the traditions of the leaders of Israel will be in vain. America needs to turn back to the book and believe Gods word and act upon it and obey the teachings of the scriptures. I leave you with these words from the book of Romans chapter ten and verse nine: “whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
