HAVE YOU SEEN GODS SALVATION?
“FOR MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THEY SALVATION”
Text Luke 2 verse 30
We are soon entering the Christmas season and many are running to and fro looking to escape the pressures of life, and spend some time buying gifts and finding pleasure in the world’s philosophy of having a good time. There are many who look back to fond memories of spending time with friends and family, but have no family to go home to this year. Christmas can be a time of great sorrow for many in this life who are going through many trials and find no comfort in the season. These words taken from the book of Luke speak of a time of much sorrow for a nation called Israel that was under the lash of the Roman Empire and were looking for a savior who would deliver Israel from its enemies. You and I are living in a day when we face many enemies that are seeking to destroy us as a nation and need to turn to the one who created us and made us a great nation. The word of God tells us in no uncertain terms that the nations that forget God will be turned into hell, Psalm 9 verse 17. America needs to go back to its roots or its Jewish and Christian heritage. There never has been a time in America’s history that a small minority is trying to expunge or to rid this nation of its Godly heritage. The Bible is forbidden to be in many schools and the name of Jesus Christ is not to be mentioned. I have mentioned before in other papers that I have written that to take God out of the equation or the very fabric of what has made America great is to destroy this nation. The story of Simeon who came into the temple to see with his own eyes the Messiah of Israel as the babe of Bethlehem is the story of a nation that turn from God that created them and to follow the nations in their idolatrous practices. Israel is an example to all of the nations of the earth that the living God will not allow a nation or people to go its own way in rebellion, but will face the consequences of its sins. Simeon was part of a remnant in Israel who did not bow the knee to the Godless pagans of that day but believed in the living God and walked by faith. You have a decision to make and that is to follow the great mass of people who are being led astray by the philosophy of the world that says there is pleasure in sin for a season and do your own thing as life is short and get it now. The great message of the Bible is that God is not dead and he takes no vacations. The book of Hebrews tells us that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10 verse 31 the biblical meaning of Christmas is that through the incarnation the living God tabernacles in a human body and became man or the God man. John 1 verse 14 and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us or tabernacles with us. It always has been God’s desire to tabernacle or live in the bodies of his people. The great invitation of Scripture is “whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10 verse 9 won’t you accept His gracious invitation and invite the Savior into your hearts? Merry Christmas!
