ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT AND THE COMING DAY OF THE LORD

TEXT: 2 THESSALONIANS 1verse 9

“These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the Glory of His power.”

All the signs point to one world government and the nations losing their sovereignty.  The papers and the TV point to a conglomeration of nations in the last days that speak of uniting of nations economically and trading between nations that has grown rapidly in our time. Many nations are so dependant on each other for economic reasons that they could not survive without each others help. You also have the regions of the world uniting together to bring about the one world system of worship.

All that is taking place in our world today was professed many thousands of years ago by the Bible and speaks of a world leader coming upon the scene and demanding worship. He is called the antichrist or the man of sin and will soon make his appearance upon the planet earth. The nation that we should keep our eye on is Israel as the Bible speaks of this nation more then any other nation; as Gods purpose for this planet is centered in this nation. Long before the Lord created planet earth he chose the nation of Israel to bring about His eternal purposes through this nation, and no nation or demon will cause Him to fail. What does the Bible have to say about the day and time that you and I live in. One there is mans rebellion against all authority and the immorality that is taking place upon this earth, and the many murders that are going on. Abortion is taking place in just about every nation and millions of innocent babies are being slaughtered in the women, and many nations don’t bat an eye as they say. IN the book of Isaiah we have these words from the Living God to the nations of the earth: Isaiah chapter 13 verse 9 “Behold the day of the Lord comes, Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it.” How does one prepare for the great day of the Lord and the judgments that will fall on a world that is unaware of the impending doom? So much of the world is focused on this life and never gives any thought to a day that is coming that will forever change their lives.  The Bible speaks of the wrath of God falling on a world that is in rebellion against a Holy God who will render to every man what he deserves for his sinning against the Living God. Does the word of God teach that there is a way of escape and that is found in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ? Many people have an intellectual understanding of the death of Jesus Christ but are ignorant of the Biblical teachings of the purpose of the coming of Christ into this world. Jesus did not come into the world to be an example of how we should live or to bring about social change to the world. All these are important but the main reason was to pay in full the penalty for the sins that each of us commit each day of our lives. All the wrath of God was poured upon his Son for our sins and we have a choice in this life and that is to pay for our sins as many choose to. By good works and abstaining from the major sins such as murder and adultery or sexual sins, but none of this will be accepted by the Lord as all this is mans effort make himself righteous before a Holy God, and will be rejected outright. Repentance the key and calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us our sins. I leave you with these words from the gospel of John chapter 3 verses 14-15 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
