Text Judges 21 Verse 25
“In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes”
We are living in the age of self glory or if it feels good do it. Situational ethics or I am the final judge of what is right or wrong. God has been run out of his universe, and man has created God, and not the other way around. God is the creator of mankind, and we will have to give an account to the living God for our actions. There are two Gods in the universe: the God called self or the God of the bible. The choice is ours to make and we cannot remain neutral. The book of Judges was written about 1375 B.C. and deals with the nation of Israel being judged for their turning away from the God who created them as a nation, and worshipping the false gods of the land. What are the gods of America and how will they be our ruin? The love of material wealth and the idea that wealth will meet all of our needs, and in whatever way or means we can reach our goals is acceptable. The other God is sex and what ever way I can meet my needs is acceptable to many in our nation such as fornication, or adultery which is running rampart in our land today. Another God is violence in our land, and the horrible crimes that are being committed against children and many older citizens. There is in this nation a desire to remove God from all of our schools of learning and to bow down to the God of humanism and to remove any mention of God in the public arena. To obey the commandments of the Lord, but married many wives who turned his Head away from following the Lord. Israel was greatly blessed of the Lord with great material wealth as we enjoy in our nation, but lost it all by following the pagan nations which surrounded it. We as a nation somehow feel that we will always have the blessings of God upon us regardless of our turning our backs to Him. What do the scriptures say of any nation that rejects the Lord by its lifestyle? In….. Israel Here is called a sinful nation that has forsaken the Lord and has provoked the holy one of Israel to anger. In the book of Deuteronomy Chapter 28 the Lord speaks of all the curses that would come upon the nation of Israel for leaving God out of their lives. The history of this nation gives evidence of the truthfulness of Gods holy word and that God will judge all sin in his own time or in the life to come. The only answer is national repentance and making Jesus Christ Lord of our lives. There is no other way it is Gods way or doom for the nation. “Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10 verse 13.
