This National Park is beautiful in the winter but don't visit in the summer!
You can travel greater distances, but no place will take you further away.  An apt description for The Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort located in the Death Valley National Park, approximately 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (an easy two-hour drive), and 300 miles northeast of Los Angeles, California. The resort is surrounded by the beauty and mystery of the Death Valley, once home to the Pacific Coast Borax Company and 20-mule teams made famous by the 1950s television program Death Valley Days.

Furnace Creek Ranch provides guests with charming and comfortable accommodations in a family-type setting.  Situated around the 18-hole golf course, the Ranch, with its 224 rooms is also home to a General Store filled with camping supplies, Native American arts and crafts, gifts, snacks and books.  Guests at the Ranch can also take advantage of the natural spring-fed swimming pool with 85 degree non-chlorine water, two lighted tennis courts, horseback riding at the Ranch stables (seasonal) and The Borax Museum.  Plus…they have a frozen yogurt shop!
